Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic (AkwaPoly), National Diploma (ND) Part-Time/Eveningprogramme admission form for the 2015/2016 academic session is now available for interested persons.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Akwa-Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua National Diploma (ND) Part-Time/Evening programmes for the 2015/2016 academic session.

NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
I. SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCES Science Lab Technology Computer Science Statistics	Five credit passes in SSCE or its equivalent in Mathematics and any two of (a) Physics, (b) Chemistry and (c) Biology /Agricultural Science, the third subject of a, b, c above must be a pass. And two others from any of Economics, Geography, Building/ Engineering Drawing, Leather, Tanning, etc; and pass in English Language in not more than two sittings. Five credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, and any three subject from Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Geography, Government and a pass in English Language in not more than two sitting. Five credit passes in Mathematics and any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Statistics, Further Mathematics plus any two from Economics, Geography, Commerce, Government and a pass in English Language in not more than two sittings.
II. SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES Accountancy Marketing Public Administration Banking/Finance Business Administration Office Technology and Management (formerly Secretarial Studies)	Five credit passes in SSCE or its equivalent in Mathematics and English Language, plus three credit passes in any of Economics, Business Methods, Principles of Account, Literature in English, Commerce, Government and one Science subject in not more than two sittings. Office Technology & Management requires a pass in Mathematics.
III. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING Electrical/Electronics Civil Engineering Technology	Five credit passes in SSCE or its equivalent which must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least a pass in English Language obtained in nit more than two sittings. OR The National Technical Certificate (NTC) in electrical trade with credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, English Language and two other subject. Civil Engineering Technology requires five credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and one other Science subject from Biology / Agric Science, Geography, Economics, Commerce.
IV. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES Architecture Technology Building Technology Estate Management Quantity Surveying Surveying and Geo-informatics Urban and Regional Planning	Five O/Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and any two subject from Chemistry, Biology/ Agric Science, Geography, Economics/ Commerce, Technical Drawing, Fine Art.
V. SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION ARTS Mass Communication	Five GCE ‘O’ Level or SSCE or NECO, NABTEB subjects passed at not more than two sittings. The subjects must be passed at credit level and should include English Language; A pass in Mathematics is also required.

All applications should be made by visiting the First Bank PLC and making payment of N6,700 only.
Application should therefore be completed by visiting http://www.akwaibompoly-edu.net with the obtained pin to complete the application form not later than Wednesday, 18^th Nov, 2015.
All applications MUST be concluded on or before Wednesday, 18^thNov 2015. Applicantscan start and complete this process anywhere in the country. All shortlisted students will be published online and will write an aptitude test on Saturday, 21^st Nov 2015.

Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua was established on 1^st December 1991 by Akwa Ibom State Edict No. 2 of 1991, to inherit the facilities of the former campus of the University of Cross River State now University of Uyo to train technical manpower for Nigeria.

Mission:

To produce highly competitive middle manpower for our state, our country and the global society.

The emergence of a Centre of Excellence and an institution of choice among tertiary education establishments in Nigeria.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A) To provide courses of instruction, training and research;
       (i) in the field of Applied Science, Technology, Commerce and Business Management and
       (ii) in such other fields of learning as the Polytechnic may from time to time determine.
B) To organize conference, seminars, studies and other activities relating to the field of learning specified in paragraph A.
C) To hold examinations and award Certificates, Diplomas and other academic distinctions to persons who;
       (i) have pursed any course of study
      (ii) have satisfied such other requirements as the Polytechnic may prescribe from time to time.
D) To do such other things and acts as the Polytechnic may deem necessary for the performance of its functions under this edict.
